It feels good to become a part of a change, but it takes a lot of courage for some one to initiate a change. We all have one or many things in our minds that we want to change in the society we are part of.
We three, too had lot of things in mind but couldn’t start earlier but we finally made at-least one such thing possible out of those many by taking a small step towards a change in the society.
It was an awesome feeling when we finally launched our campaign- “Sankalp: An electricity saving initiative by the IIMB students“, It took a lot of efforts and support of many people that made this Sankalp to happen at right time and at a right platform.
This initiative is a very small step in the direction of saving electricity by changing in our behavior, and why it is very small because in the end it only talks about switching off lights and fans when they are not in use, but it goes beyond that, Long term vision of this campaign is to curb the wastage in electricity by spreading awareness and promoting self-regulation with small initiatives, to cater long-term sustainability for oneself and the society at large. The awareness would enable in significant (about 8-10%) savings in electricity. It would also enable us to meet the our vision of self-sufficiency in our institutions.
Once discussing among our teammate about this, some of us mentioned about human nature of all of us which resist the change but we knew one thing even if one person gets changed from this initiative, its worth for us for going ahead with this campaign.
We team Sankalp urge all of you who are reading this post in my blog to make Sankalp today to change in your behavior to save the electricity by making contribution in anyway you can.
Support us to spread this message to as many people as possible.
Be a part of any change once in a while in you life!!!
Thank you team Sankalp (Rajendra and Tirthesh) for working hard on this initiative.
